Beautiful Blues (New!)
Create gorgeous blue-scapes or “sun prints.” Cyanotype is an early photographic process famously used for architectural blueprints. Campers will coat paper with a solution of iron salts, then walk the campus to collect treasure: leaves, rocks, cellophane, string, surprises—anything that might block or filter light. Next, campers will arrange found objects into “negatives” and expose to UV light and rinse with water to develop images that look like botanical illustrations, textile designs, underwater gardens, and outer space—all in luscious blue and white tones. Campers will take home a portfolio of cyanotype prints.
