    Sandia Preparatory School is seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Part-Time Development Coordinator to join our Advancement Team. This role focuses primarily on event coordination and providing support for various development initiatives throughout the year. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, mission-driven environment and enjoy building relationships with families, alumni, and community partners.

    This is a part-time, hourly position (approximately 20 hours/week) with flexible scheduling. Availability for occasional evenings and weekends is required to support key events.


    Primary Responsibilities:

    Event Coordination & Support

    • Assist with the planning, logistics, and day-of execution for all development events.
    • Coordinate invitations, RSVPs, event materials, and follow-up communications.
    • Assist with setup, check-in, event staffing, and breakdown.
    • Collaborate with faculty, vendors, volunteers, and Advancement Team staff to ensure smooth events.
    • Support the creation of event signage, nametags, and program materials.

    Development Operations Support

    • Serve as backup for gift entry and acknowledgment processes in the school database during staff absences or peak times.
    • Maintain donor data as needed.
    • Support basic reporting and administrative tasks at the direction of the Development Director.
       

    Qualifications:

    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Event planning or support experience preferred (school, nonprofit, or corporate).
    • Comfort with databases, spreadsheets, and digital tools.
    • Database experience preferred, including familiarity with data entry, reporting, and basic data management tasks.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and positivity.
    • Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends for key events.
    • Enthusiasm for independent school education and Sandia Prep’s mission.

    Sandia Preparatory School is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic school counselor and educator to join our team. The position is open for the spring semester, starting in January 2026. We have a dynamic health and wellness team, where the school counselor provides invaluable counseling services and health education to support the well-being of our students. Developing relationships and collaborating with our teachers, administration, and families to serve students and implementing a school-wide program are the heart of this position. Essential functions of this middle and upper school (6 - 12 grade) position are as follows:
     

    • Deliver comprehensive school counseling services that align with the ASCA National Model, New Mexico School Counselor Competencies, and integrate counseling services within the existing school culture and framework for delivery of student support services.
    • Within Middle School PE/Health class time, deliver best practices and responsive classroom prevention and health education related to mental health and well-being. 
    • Provide responsive short-term counseling, consultation, crisis intervention, and peer facilitation as needed, with students in grades 6 - 12. This may include developmentally appropriate solution-focused brief counseling, check-in/check-out, conflict resolution, and social skill building, etc. 
    • Build relationships while understanding and maintaining student confidentiality and boundaries, with knowledge of current laws and ethical standards relevant to providing mental health care to adolescents in a school setting.
    • Collaboration and working as a team with teachers, administrators, wellness team, and families is a core component of the work: participation in student support team meetings, consultation with teachers and parents, wellness meetings, grade-level and department meetings.
    • Supporting student accommodation plans, to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs, and giving recommendations to teaching teams.
    • Clinical consultation with the school psychologist and school nurse, with consideration of when to refer, seek additional assessment, and communication with community-based providers for longer-term mental health needs. 
    • Assist with program development and administration to support students’ development of social-emotional learning skills, including emotional and behavioral self-regulation and self-awareness, communication with peers and adults, conflict resolution, and application of these skills within the school day and within their social life with peers.
    • Serve as a grade-level advisor and participate in extracurricular activities, such as field trips, outdoor leadership, and program activities, after school/evening/weekend events.  These additional roles are essential to understanding student life, building relationships, and the culture of the school.
       

    Education & Experience

    • Master’s Degree or higher, educational background in a relevant professional field of study.
    • Licensed as a school counselor through the New Mexico Public Education Department is strongly preferred. Licensed providers for clinical practice in New Mexico (LPCC, LSW, Psychologist, etc.) will be considered, in combination with school-based experience with adolescents. 
    • Three years (minimum) of experience working in a school setting, middle and/or high school level preferred.
    • Knowledge of differences between short-term, school-based, and developmentally appropriate counseling models and other types of counseling is essential.
    • Expertise and experience with documentation of child abuse/neglect, intervening with a potential suicide, bullying, sexual harassment, and any other laws directly affecting the role of the school counselor. 
    • Prior teaching experience of social-emotional and health content, classroom, and small group.
    • Familiarity with private or independent school culture is desirable.
    • Passion and experience working with adolescents, in a counseling and educational capacity, ages 12 – 19.

    Sandia Prep is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Night Custodian. This person, under the direction of the Facilities Director, will be in charge of maintaining the quality and cleanliness of the Sandia Prep campus as well as directing the night custodians to ensure all standards are being met. This is an evening shift, with some weekends included.
     

    Custodians are responsible for:

    • Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures
    • Cleaning, dusting, and wiping furniture; sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming floors
    • Empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers
    • Cleaning and stocking restrooms
    • Assist with setting up facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, and events.
    • Strip, clean, buff, and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum, and shampoo carpets.
    • Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, including buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high-pressure washers, high-speed buffers, vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees, for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, and furniture
    • Additional duties as needed to maintain the 30-acre facilities

     

    Requirements
    2 years of custodial experience, preferably in a school environment. Experience with floor buffers, scrubbers, extractors, a plus, MSDS Sheets. Detail-orientated. Punctual and reliable attendance. Bilingual preferred.

    Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a thorough background and drug screening process.
     

    Skills
    Communication skills, attention to detail, follow directions, comprehension, calculating, reading, writing, speaking, evaluating, organizing. Flexible (to handle change of duties). Climbing, repetitive motion, bending, lifting (50lbs). Walking, standing, moving objects.

    This is a part-time, hourly position (approximately 20 hours per week). The position does not have a fixed daily schedule. Hours will vary from week to week based on the event calendar and preparation needs. Evening and weekend work is common, and attendance is required at all development and alumni events. Daytime hours are used for planning, coordination, and follow-up.
     

    Primary Responsibilities

    Development and Alumni Event Coordination

    • Coordinate and support all aspects of development and alumni events, including planning, timelines, room setups, vendor bookings, and on-site logistics.
    • Create and manage online event and fundraising pages, web forms that collect RSVPs, and guest lists, and support invitations, mailings, and basic event communications.
    • Prepare and manage event materials, including name tags, signage, programs, check-in lists, and volunteer assignments, for student volunteers.
    • Provide on-site event support with a welcoming, solutions-oriented presence, including setup, check-in, guest greeting, general staffing, and post-event breakdown and organization.
    • Assist with simple post-event follow-up, such as thank-you messages and recap notes.
