summer 2025 Math & Reading

Summer Math Packets

The Sandia Prep Mathematics Department has developed summer packets for students to work through over the coming weeks. Students are asked to complete the packet that corresponds with the math course they will be starting in August 2025.

We hope these problem sets will help students retain key math concepts over the summer months and help reduce the number of class periods spent reviewing these concepts at the beginning of the year.  Students can expect some kind of assessment of this material during the first two weeks of the school year.

Note to new families: While Sandia Prep does issue textbooks at the beginning of the semester, students are required to buy their own copies of novels for their English classes, including the summer reading assignments. Our teachers highly encourage students to annotate and/or highlight their books as they read them. As a result, it's harder to reuse them from year to year.

You're free to purchase the book from your favorite local bookstore or online retailer. In addition to the summer reading assignment, English classes generally require 4-6 novels chosen by the teacher. Those book lists will be available in early August at the same time as schedules and supply lists are published.
