Grandparents Spend Day as Sundevils
October 17th, 2024
Walking hand in hand across campus with their grandchildren, visiting classrooms, being chauffeured in golf carts, and sharing meals -- Sandia Prep’s grandparents turned out in full force for the 2024 edition of Grandparents' Day.
Grandparents and grandfriends started their visit with coffee, pastries, and breakfast burritos in the West Gym, then rotated through abbreviated class periods. At day’s end, each of them took home a potted plant put together by Dr. Chuck Buxbaum’s seventh-grade science classes.
Our National Honor Society (NHS) volunteers greeted the special visitors, served goodies, and distributed more than 250 plants.
The energy on campus was contagious, and the message was clear: We love our grandparents!
