Solving Real-World Challenges
Green chile ranch dressing: A new Dion’s favorite! But how to determine the right temperature conditions to ship it across the country so it’s just as delicious when it arrives? That was a real-world challenge presented to our Entrepreneurial Studies students.
Our "Entre" students engage in fast-paced problem solving, critical thinking, collaboration, and innovation to solve real-world problems. Over the course of a semester, they work in small teams on three different consulting projects with actual start-up companies. They conduct research, interview customers, and work as a team to devise a solution, then propose their solutions directly to the business CEOs. In their fourth and final project, teams create a concept for a business and pitch it “Shark Tank”-style to real investors.
