What's your secret skill or something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I own a flower business - jennifleurs. Started in 2021 as a flower truck (in a 1968 Volkswagen Double Cab), expanded to self serve flower stands located at other businesses, and in 2025 opened a Flower Shoppe at the Imperial Motel in East Downtown (which has a mini food hall, bar, coffee shop, plus regular entertainment like music, karaoke, comedy and community swimming access in the summer - if folks haven't heard of it)

How do you like to spend your downtime?
Working. When I'm not at Prep, I'm either on duty at my first job - Mother to 7-year-old Emilia Charlotte, or at my second job - owner and sole operator of jennifleurs. But, travel, local music, reading, puzzles, lego, crafts, scrolling Pinterest, and supporting other local businesses are all a few of my favorite things!

What do you enjoy most about Sandia Prep?
I have admired Sandia Prep from afar for a long time. My cousin attended school here (6-12) and I was envious of her experience every time I heard her talk about it. She has gone on from Prep to become a chemist. As a mother, I want the best for my 7-year-old daughter, Emilia, and Sandia Prep is undoubtedly in my dreams for her. This past summer she came to Prep for SummerPrep, and I loved everything about it as a parent. My favorite thing aside from all the experiences she had this summer (lemonade stand, fencing, harry potter - to name a few), was getting to come on campus, have breakfast together while listening to the music in the quad in the morning before camp. As a parent, I just fell more in love with the school. As a business owner and single mother in these difficult economic times, I have been searching for supplemental employment and periodically checked at Sandia Prep. I am thrilled to be at Prep and eager to share my skills with the school. Every time I get to know more of what happens in the classrooms, the activities, and experiences the school offers, and experience Prep day-to-day, I just fall more in love with it and its community—it's magnetic.
