1. Class Schedule

 

To obtain your student's schedule, please sign in to your PrepNet Parent Portal.  Next to your student's photo click "Classes & Reports." On this page, you will find a link to his/her current class schedule. (Student school and PE locker assignments and combinations are included at the top of the student's schedule. Students do NOT need to provide their own locks.)

As a Sandia Prep parent, you have access to Sandia Prep’s School Information Management System through the PrepNet Parent Portal. It is your one-stop for class assignments, invoices, report cards, and much more. You will also find your Household Profile and Medical Information here. Please review and update this information at your convenience. Your username and password will remain the same as last year; or for new parents, it will be what you set up during our Admission process.

2. Medical Forms

 

Sandia Prep policy requires that ALL STUDENTS have the following records on file in order to be eligible for everything from P.E., athletics, Outdoor Leadership Program (OLP), and field trips, to activities such as chorus (an NMAA activity), drama, dance, and Back-to-School retreats:

  • Medical History Questionnaire
  • Medical Evaluation/Physical Form: Physicals must be performed and signed by a medical professional.
  • Immunization Record (NEW students only)
 
 
 

3. Student/Parent Handbook

 

Students and parents should review the Student/Parent Handbook (link below). There is new and important information included in this year's handbook.

 
 

4. Book Lists

 

Below you will find lists by grade level for all required English classes for the 2018-2019 school year.

5. Sandia Prep Bus Service

 

Sandia Prep will offer bus service to and from Prep for the 2018-2019 school year. There will be morning pick-ups and afternoon drop-offs at three different locations - one on the Westside near Corrales, one in the Northeast Heights, and another in the Ridgecrest/UNM area.

6. Orientation Day Schedules (For New Students Only)

 

We are excited to welcome new families to campus on Orientation Day, Tuesday, August 14. 

 

Sixth graders should be dropped off in Room 713 of the Performing Arts Center (PAC) by 8:00 a.m. and students in grades 7-12 will meet their tour guides at 8:00 a.m. in the foyer of the Russell Student Center. The New Parent Orientation Breakfast will be held in the Russell Student Center, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

7. State Textbook Check-Out

 

Get State Textbooks Early!
Beginning Wednesday, August 8, students in grades 7-12 may come to the Sandia Prep Library with their schedule and get all of their state textbooks at one time.

There will be someone at the library to help you on the following days:

 

Weekdays, August 8 - August 14 
9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

 

Weekdays, after August 14
7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Library staff will also be on hand during the supply sale on Saturday, August 11. 

Sixth Graders: Please do not come for your books on your own. You will be coming to the library with your classes once school starts.

8. Sundevil Supply Store

 

*Supply lists will be available at the Sundevil Supply Store Sale beginning August 11.

 

The Sundevil Supply Store (in the Russell Student Center) is up and running just in time for every student to get all of their supplies for the upcoming school year. No need to go anywhere else to shop. Come and support the Sundevil Supply Store and the Parents Association at the Back to School Supply Sale. All proceeds help fund many activities at Prep.

 

There will be binders of all sizes, markers, Sharpies, pens, pencils, paper, calculators, rulers, protractors, folders, and much more. There will also be pre-packaged "6th Grade Survival Bags" that include most of the supplies that sixth graders will need for the year.

The supply sale days and times are:

 

Saturday, August 11 
9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

 

Tuesday, August 14 
9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

 

Wednesday, August 15 (First day of school)
7:30 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.

 

Monday, August 20 (First day back after Back to School Camps)

9. Sandia Preparatory School Parents Association (SPSPA)

 

The Sandia Preparatory School Parents Association (SPSPA) helps the school by planning and supervising events. When you pay tuition and fees for a Sandia Prep student, you become a member of the Parents Association. Your involvement, along with that of other parents, enhances the school experience for our students. Volunteering time provides a rewarding connection to the community. We rely on our parents’ help for another successful year ahead!

10. Sundevil Athletics Organization (SAO) / Athletic Night

 

The Sundevil Athletics Organization (SAO) is a parent volunteer organization that focuses on athletics. Our commitment begins by helping to identify and train a team parent for each athletic team here at Prep. The SAO coordinates all apparel which includes Prep spirit wear, sports specific wear and letter jackets. Throughout the school year the SAO is able to financially support many activities at Prep. If you would like to get involved in Sundevil Athletics, please contact Grace Tackman at SAOPresident@sandiaprep.org.

 

SPORTS INFO NIGHT: Monday, August 20 in the West Gym
Mandatory for parents of all SPS athletes. 
The NMAA requires all parents of Sandia Prep athletes to attend, regardless of whether your child plans to play a fall, winter, or spring sport. If you think your child might want to play a sport this year, you must attend this meeting.


There will be a presentation for parents of students in grades 6 and 7 at 6:00 p.m., followed by a presentation for parents of students in grades 8-12 at 7:00 p.m. Both presentations will take place in the West Gym.

  • Meet our Athletic Director, coaches, and Sundevil Athletics Organization (SAO) volunteers.
  • Shop for Sundevil spirit gear.
  • An added bonus: SAO's membership cards (which are free to all Sandia Prep parents) will be handed out. This card will gain you free admission into all Sandia Prep home games.
  • Letter jacket fittings will be available for any interested students.
 
 
 

11. School Photos

 

Photo Day – Tuesday, August 28

These photos will be used for the Sandia Prep yearbook, and seniors may use them for next spring’s graduation program (in lieu of professional photos, if desired). In addition, these photos are used to create student and faculty/staff identification cards. Please do not wear green on photo day. (A green screen is used by the photographer.) Packages may be purchased if desired; order forms will be distributed through Advisory groups. If the first photo day is missed, a photo retake day is scheduled for Tuesday, October 2 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

12. Attendance

 

If your student will be absent for any reason, please email the attendance office at spsattendance@sandiaprep.org, or call the main office at 505.338.3000.  If parents do not email or call by 10:30 a.m., then the school will contact you to verify the absence.
 
 
 
 

13. Prep Café / Lunch Accounts

 

The Prep Café cooks all food from scratch. The menu is known for its delicious specials, including Taco Tuesdays and Pasta Fridays, which keep things new and different, as well as student favorites that are available year-round. Daily specials, carne adovada, fresh salads with grilled chicken, and a variety of sandwiches are just a few of our favorites. And of course, there isn't a better breakfast burrito in town!

 

Sandia Prep's lunch account system is called "MyKidsSpending." Parents are able to add money to school spending accounts for use at the Prep Café, view account activity, and request PDF statements. You will receive an email to set up your MyKidsSpending account.

14. Carpooling

 

To establish a carpool in your neighborhood, access the PrepNet Parent Portal and click "Directories" at the top of the page; then click "Household Directory" from the sub-menu. There is an option to find "Nearby Student Households." You can then contact the families directly.  If you are having trouble determining zip codes/locations for carpooling purposes, please contact a member of our IT Department at spsithelp@sandiaprep.org.
