Seniors Enjoy Their Last Day at Prep
Seniors enjoyed their last day at SPS with a fun day in the Quadrangle. The seniors hosted a BBQ for the school at lunch with plenty of music and socializing. Then came the traditional “hug-a-senior” time, when younger students hugged all the seniors they could find. Finally, the anticipated countdown until the bell of their last day at SPS took place. Seniors leave now to conduct their month-long senior experiences, after which they'll return to report on their experiences to fellow students and to attend awards ceremonies and graduation.

Students Celebrate Africa Day
Last month students celebrated Africa Day, on which they learned about the country through food, games and talks. Below are some pictures from the event. The students enjoyed playing games, the first being barefoot soccer, as that is the way it is played in Africa. The second game was balancing buckets of water on their heads and spilling as little as possible. Since carrying items on top of the head is common in Africa, the students tried it out. Last, the students learned how mothers in Africa wrap their babies up on their backs. Students were paired up and had to practice wrapping each other up and carrying them across the field. Next it was lunch time. Each student prepared a food from Africa and met up in the Commons where they enjoyed the wide variety of food. The day finished with the students breaking into groups and listening to speakers from Africa. It was a fun and educational day for all students involved.

“I enjoy Prep’s Outdoor Leadership Program and competing with our Supercomputing team. I like the challenging academics, especially science; I took Biology Two, Chemistry Two and Anatomy this past year. My teachers and college counselors are excellent and accessible.”
