Muslim Political Expert Speaks at Prep

Muslim political expert Vali Nasr recently spoke to Prep ‘s Upper School students about Islam’s complex relations to politics, developments in the Muslim world and U.S. foreign policy. Vali Nasr is the author of multiple books and two New York Times bestsellers, including The Shia Revival: How Conflicts within Islam will Shape the Future and Democracy in Iran (which SPS Global Studies students are currently reading). After his presentation, he hosted an extended question and answer session with students followed by lunch with SPS faculty. Nasr’s visit was made possible by a grant from the Gorham Foundation.
