Travel to Bhutan March 2010
In March 2010, World History Teacher Tom Gentry-Funk will lead a trip to Bhutan, one of the most remote kingdoms (soon to be a democracy) in the world and one which has strict policies for western tourism. The country itself is situated in the heart of the Himalayas between India, Nepal, and Tibet.
This trip will travel over Spring Break for 15 days with 10 days in-country. Travels will include a visit to the Punakha Festival, the Paro Festival, and treks to remote Buddhist temples, shrines, and villages. Included in this tour will be hiking to various locations in the country and views of the Himalayas including Mt. Everest.
