In addition to active involvement in their child’s educational experience, many parents choose to become involved in the SPS community in other ways.

The Sandia Prep School Parents Association (SPSPA) meets regularly, is responsible for a wide variety of events and initiatives to support the School, and is open to all SPS parents. There are numerous and varied opportunities for interested parents to volunteer.

The Sandia Prep Athletic Booster Club is also open to any interested parents. This group actively supports Sandia Prep’s extensive athletic program.

Calling All Green Thumbs!

This summer we will be working in the garden on Wednesday mornings from 9:00 a.m.– 12:00 p.m. until school starts again in August. We need adult and student volunteers to help pull weeds, plant trees, plaster the horno, mulch, plant flowers, pick peaches and other small gardening tasks. We would like to encourage our rising 7th graders and their parents to join in and participate, as they planted the garden this past spring and will be harvesting it in the fall. Interested parties should call Karen Lyall at 242-1046.

"Sandia Prep offers many opportunities to volunteer your time.  You can sign up to accompany a field trip, chaperone a dance, work at the all-parent-volunteer supply store, help with mailings, or serve on a committee. I love the close relationships that our family has developed with the administrators and teachers. Everyone works together for the benefit of the children.  Parent involvement is welcomed, encouraged, and appreciated!"
