Noche de Celebración is a dinner and auction held every two years to benefit a range of Sandia Prep programs and building projects.  At this year's event, International multi-platinum recording artist Daniel Powter performedseveral original songs, including 2 songs with the Sandia Prep Upper School Chorus — "Whole World Around" and his #1 hit single, "Bad Day."   Guests enjoyed cocktails, silent and live auctions featuring more than 130 items, dinner, and Daniel's live performance. 

Noche de Celebrlación 2012 raised more than $102,000, exceeding the 100K goal! Proceeds from this year's gala will support enhancements to Sandia Prep's academic program, including:    

  • Additional classroom resources (equipment for science labs, art studios and music classes; classroom technology, etc.)
  • Financial aid for a diverse pool of bright young people
  • Curriculum development (design and implementation of new courses; development of interdisciplinary programs, etc.)
  • Faculty support and development  

This year's auction items included:   

  • Travel packages and hotel getaways
  • Original works by well-known artists
  • Restaurant and private catering packages
  • Tickets to live performancesSports, fitness and personal training packages
  • Private professional music performances and lessons
  • A new iPod 3 signed by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak!
