Girls of Achievement & Leadership Fund Luncheon
February 14, 2012 @ Albuquerque Country Club
The Second Annual Girls of Achievement & Leadership Fund (GoAL! Fund) Luncheon was held on Valentine's Day at the Albuquerque Country Club to bring awareness to the leadership potential in Sandia Prep girls in grades 8-12.
More than 60 guests were treated to a talk by the New Mexico Secretary of Tourism, Monique Mayer Jacobson '96, also an alumna of Sandia Prep, who spoke about the qualities of leadership. Seniors Ruquaiya Quraishi and Frannie Overby told the audience how they have developed leadership skills through two years of participation at a national youth diversity leadership conference, while freshman U.P. Nguyen, shared how she has grown personally by taking full advantage of a Sandia Prep education.
The GoAL! Fund underwrites a range of student leadership opportunities in a variety of disciplines for girls, including conferences and workshops, camps, speaking opportunities, and even Sandia Prep tuition assistance.
