Director quoted in September 2007 issue of Teen Vogue
SPS Director of College Counseling Bruce Hammond was quoted numerous times in an article in the September 2007 issue of Teen Vogue. In the article by Josh Baron entitled “Special Report: Choosing A College / Open Admissions,” Hammond offers advice for college-seeking teens.
“‘Top students should give a hard look at less-selective schools that offer them a scholarship, an honors program, and special attention from faculty.’” Teen Vogue also says that according to Hammond it is important to find a college that is, “both challenging and comfortable. ‘College is, ultimately, about the experience you have while you’re there. . .’” Along with tips on the type of college to look for, and important items to take note of when scouting out colleges, Hammond also notes that the people at a college are more important than the campus itself.
Hammond is also co-editor of the Fiske Guide to Getting Into the Right College, author of Discounts & Deals at the Nation's 360 Best Colleges and the college admission and financial aid expert for ivillage.com.
