Sundevil Athletics Organization
The mission of the Sundevil Athletics Organization is to support and promote Sandia Preparatory School's athletic programs by encouraging parent involvement, promoting school spirit and providing financial resources. Funds generated by the SAO shall be directed toward the advancement of Sundevil athletics and/or to Sandia Prep School and its charities.
For the 2017-2018 school year, SAO meetings will be held November 8, January 4, February 1, April 5, and May 3 at 11:45 a.m. in the Dick Heath Board Room (upper level of the Russell Student Center). All parents are welcome.
Parents are an integral part of each team having a great season. Each sport is unique and so is the parental involvement. The majority of our teams need a team parent. The team parent will help coordinate things such ad snacks, announcers, line judges, ticket takers, pasta parties and end-of-season parties. If you would like to help with team parent coordination please let your coach know.
At Sandia Prep school spirit can be demonstrated in many ways.
The SAO supports and encourages school spirit by providing apparel items for sale. Did you know that wearing Sandia Prep apparel is the easiest way to get into home games for free?
During Spirit Week our 6th graders are given their Lion and Unicorn shirts as a gift from the SAO. We want to encourage their school spirit and help them to enjoy their first Spirit Week as a Lion or a Unicorn.
Team parents have found many ways to encourage team spirit. You may find them decorating a bulletin board in the gym, providing snacks for home games, or meals for away games.
Show your Sundevil spirit by buying and wearing Sandia Prep apparel. Sandia Prep apparel can be purchased in the Supply Store, which is open on school days from 7:45 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.
Sports specific apparel will be at the beginning of each season via email. Please watch for the email with instructions on how to order.
Letter jackets and Memory Banners are now available ONLY through Neff at the following website: neffco.com. Click on "Varsity Jackets" and enter the password 072722, or click "Find your School by State."
Financial Support of the SAO toward the Sandia Preparatory School Athletics Program comes through three primary categories: membership dues, donations, and sales from apparel.
Membership: As part of yearly tuition and fees, each family pays membership dues to the SAO of $25 per year. At Athletic Night in August, please pick up your membership card which will get parents and grandparents into home, regular season games for free.
